RULE YOUR SPIRIT, RULE YOUR LIFE

RULE YOUR SPIRIT, RULE YOUR LIFE:
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who captures a city. Proverbs 16:32

The above passage, is hands down, my favorite piece of scripture in all the Bible. Not only does it contain the law for a successful life, but I believe it also contains the blueprint for self-mastery of ones being.

I believe that if we would spend the time and learn how to rule our spirit, we would not only know what to do, but we would also know how to resolve any of the negative issues within our lives.

When you hear the word rule, don't think of it as a dictatorship. Think in terms of a General ruling his army. The two must become one to win. One cannot survive without the other. He's as much a part of his army and his army is a part of him. And so it should be with your spirit.

IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO LOOK INSIDE:
Most people tend to look outside themselves for the answers to their problems. They look to the "experts" in their quest for guidance and helpful advice. Yes, there's plenty of good information out there, but there are also plenty of kooks.

The answers that you seek are already within you. You already know the difference between what's right and what's wrong for each and every situation in your life.

You have an inner voice that speaks to you loud and clear. You're the only person who can hear that voice, and only you can choose to listen to, or ignore it. If you're having problems in your life, the simple fact is, you're not listening.

Each one of us is a unique being. There are things in your life that are wrong for you to do. You know they're wrong. No outsider has to tell you. You know they create problems, and yet you continue to do them.

YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IT IS YOU NEED TO DO:
Let's say you want to lose weight. There's a box of doughnuts in the cafeteria. Your taste buds say yes but your inner voice says no. You heard the no loud and clear, but you ignored it and went with the desires of the body instead of listening to your inner voice and ruling your spirit.

Now the doughnuts were a very simple and lame example. It could have been not wearing a seatbelt, unprotected sex, drinking and driving, driving too fast, gambling the rent, cheating on your partner, or a million other things, but the bottom line is, you simply choose not to listen.

We are not a body with a spirit, we are a spirit with a body. Our spirit is very strong and willing, but our body is weak and frail. If we would only learn to listen to our inner voice, and rule our spirit, we would not only be at our best, but those around us would benefit as well.

THAT INNER VOICE SPEAKING TO YOU IS YOUR SPIRIT
Each one of us holds a personalized package of doubts, fears, insecurities, worries, hopes, dreams, ambitions, and desires. Some of the items in our packages are good for us, and some of them need to be tossed out.

Confused as to what to keep and what to let go of? Look inside, not outside. Your spirit and inner voice speak loud and clear and know exactly what you need.

You're not perfect, you're only human. You will make mistakes. But the more you listen to, and the more you practice ruling your spirit, the better your decisions and your choices will be, and that in turn will bring positive results in your life.

IT'S RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW:
Read the Bible. Get in touch with God. Learn how to listen and rule your spirit like the general rules his army. Your life can be as good as you want it to be. The power is within you. It's not some long, lost, mystic secret. It's real and you have it NOW.
